    What is The Victor's Moot?

    Also known as the H V Perera QC Memorial Moot Court competition, The Victor’s Moot is Sri Lanka’s First International Commercial Arbitration Moot organized by the Moot Society of Sri Lanka Law College. Through head to head competition among teams from around the world, the Victor’s Moot aspires to promote Arbitration as an effective method of Alternative Dispute Resolution, as well as an ideal platform to discuss the timely developments in the field of International Commercial Arbitration.

    What are the benefits of taking part In The Victor’s Moot?

    • It is an ideal platform for Law Students to familiarize themselves in the field of International Commercial Arbitration, which is a trending topic in the Legal Sphere.

    • It provides an opportunity for participants to be integrated into international networks while simultaneously receiving international exposure by competing and connecting with fellow peers from around the world.

    • It also provides an opportunity to be judged by a panel of Arbitrators consisting of internationally renowned, eminent professionals in the field.

    Who is eligible to register a team for the Moot?

    Every law school is eligible and the competition is open to teams composed of students:

    • Enrolled in either, an Undergraduate Programme in law or equivalent professional qualification at a University or other institution
    And
    • Who have not received their Undergraduate qualification or any other professional qualification in the legal field (Attorney at law, Barristers, solicitors, etc.)

    How many members can a team comprise of?

    There shall only be one team representing their respective university and each team shall consist of a minimum of 2 members and a maximum of 4 members.

    How will the competition be held?

    All rounds of the competition shall be conducted virtually by way of video conferencing through a video conferencing platform.

    When will the Moot Problem be released?

    The organizers will distribute the Moot Problem on the date specified in the timeline.

    How much is the Registration Fee?

    The Registration Fees for teams taking part in the Victor’s Moot are as follows,

    • The registration fee per Sri Lankan team shall be LKR 10,000
    • The registration fee per foreign team shall be USD 120
